Simple Glass Mode enables the capture of a full screen or of a section of the screen, and automatically imports it into the OKTOPUS lesson. It differs from regular Glass Mode as it minimizes OKTOPUS and shows a capture tool only, in order to capture a still image, whereas regular Glass Mode gives OKTOPUS a live transparent overlay.
If you have a 4K/UHD screen but find that the regular Glass Mode background causes poor pen performance due to underpowered or integrated graphics on your system, Simple Glass Mode is a great alternative as it can capture a static image, ready for annotation without causing pen lag.
Click the Simple Glass Mode option under Standard Tools > Capture Tools
Once you click Simple Glass Mode, OKTOPUS will minimize and you will see two capture icons:
- The left icon will capture the entire screen and set it as your background for the current slide.
- The right icon will allow you to drag to select an area of the screen. The area you selected will be imported as an image object into the current slide.
When you navigate to a new slide, OKTOPUS will revert back to the default white screen or to your last-used background, depending on whether you have set “Remember Last Used Background” to yes or no under Settings > Preferences.
